Introduction

The Mill House has been renovated to a very high standard over the last 8 years, taking great care and attention to sympathetically restore this former Victorian Mill House. All guest rooms are themed, with stylish decor, TV, hair dryers, tea & coffee and alarm clocks in all rooms. Broadband internet access is available via our wireless router. On pure white linen and utilizing silver cutlery we offer a full English breakfast, but also cater for any special dietary needs. We pride ourselves on quality in every aspect. The Mill House has recently undergone major construction in order to provide one further double en-suite guest room (ground floor and suitable for people who require level access), and a larger guest dining room/conference facility overlooking the gardens.

Pre-arrival

  • The train station is located 5 minutes away with access via the level pavement. Once at the station there are ramps available to access the platform and wheel chair facilities on the trains.
  • There is a local taxi service that has accessible taxis if required, we can make a booking for you.
  • There is a bus stop along the main road with a frequent service, the town center is a 15-minute bus journey.
  • The local amenities are within five minutes with pedestrian crossings available.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

  • There are car-parking facilities available on site.
  • A parking space can be reserved if required.
  • Assistance can be offered on arrival if required with luggage etc.
  • The surface to the car park is level bricks and access to the bed and breakfast is via a level pathed area, which is wide enough for wheel chair users.
  • There are sensor lights in operation at night.

Main Entrance & Reception

  • There is a front entrance and rear entrance to the property.
  • The rear entrance has easy level access via a pathed walkway.
  • The entrance doors are double patio in style and are unlocked during the day.
  • Assistance can be offered if required.
  • Once into the building you will be entering the dining room which has level access wooden floor (this is where you can sign in).
  • The ground floor room is then only a short distance with level access throughout and short pile carpeted surface.

Public Areas - General (Internal)

  • There is a small corridor to the ground floor, which consists of short pile carpet.
  • The stairs leading to the first floor is also short piled carpet.
  • The carpet has a bold print and easily stands out.
  • The breakfast room and one bedroom are on the ground floor.
  • The floor covering to the breakfast room is wood.

Public Areas - WC

  • There is a level access disabled toilet located directly off the breakfast room, which is easily accessible.

Dining Room

  • Breakfast is served in the dining room located on the ground floor. There are no steps.
  • Furniture is flexible and can be moved on request.
  • Menus can verbally be explained to guests or written down if requested.
  • There is no background music played in the dining room.

Laundry

  • Available on request if required.

Shop

  • Not available on site but a variety of shops are situated within 5 minutes walk.

Treatment room/s

  • Not available on site but an appointment can be made for you at the beauty clinic opposite The Mill House.

Outdoor Facilities

  • The Mill House has a large well-tendered garden all on one level, with no steps. There is also comfortable outdoor furniture available for guest use.

Conference & Meeting Room

  • The dining room also doubles up as a meeting/function room, which is located on the ground floor.
  • Entrance is via the rear double doors or through the internal entrance from the small corridor located on the ground floor.
  • Access is level.
  • Surfaces are wood and short pile carpet.
  • This room also has level access from the designated on site parking.
  • Lighting is a combination of natural and electrical, but levels remain constant.
  • There is a unisex disabled toilet located at ground level off this room.
  • Fire signage is pictorial with easy access to the emergency route and assembly point to the rear of the property, with level access.

Bedrooms

  • Two bedrooms are on the ground floor and are suitable for wheel chair users. These ground floor rooms have private ensuite facilities. There is a double room which can accommodate two people and also a single ensuite room.
  • The door width is 90cm - 100cm wide.
  • The bed can be moved if requested to suite the needs of the guest.
  • Wardrobes are built in and coat hanger rod can be provided upon request.
  • There is a TV, which can be used via remote control.
  • The floor material is short pile carpet, with a good contrast in décor.

Shower-room & WC (Ensuite or Shared)

  • The ground floor room is provided with an en suite shower room with level access direct from the bedroom.
  • This room has a shower cubicle, toilet and wash hand basin.
  • There is a grab rail located next to the shower entrance.
  • The floor material is non-slip lino.
  • Good color contrast of walls, floors and fittings.

Self-Catering Kitchen

  • Not available.

Attractions (Displays, exhibits, rides etc.)

  • Shops and amenities are located within 5 minute travel distance and pedestrian crossings are available.
  • The village center, Local Park and broads are also located within 5-minute travel distance and access is via a pavement and level access crossing over the water. Once by the waters edge there is level access and level access footpaths through the park.

Grounds and Gardens

  • There is access to the mature planted garden to the rear of the dining room, via the double patio doors.
  • Access is level and there is a grassed area, which is flat.
  • There are benches, which can be used as rest points throughout the garden.

Additional Information

  • Mobile phone reception is generally good.
  • Staff are trained in first aid and first aid kits are available on site.
  • We are able to use the front and back doors in the event of an emergency with level access from the ground floor.
  • There is an audible fire alarm located throughout the building and staff have been advised to offer assistance in the event of an emergency.
  • Details of assistance required are recorded when checking in.
  • We are happy to take delivery of hired equipment (please let us know in advance.
  • We are a no smoking building, but smoking is allowed in the rear garden which has level access and ashtrays are provided.
  • If requested medication/food can be stored in the refrigerator.
